Casino New Brunswick Poker Room
Casino New Brunswick’s poker room is inside the main casino building at 21 Casino Drive in Moncton. It is a bricks-and-mortar room, with real tables and chips, not an app on your phone and not a web client. If you are looking for something you can fire up from the sofa, that belongs to the online section a bit later. What we actually operate at Casino NB is a live poker room.
The room usually opens Thursday to Sunday in the evenings. On Thursday and Sunday the room tends to run from 18:00 until 02:00, while on Friday and Saturday it normally stays open to 03:00. These hours line up across official listings and public info, but they can move slightly from time to time. Calling ahead before you get in the car is simply safer and saves a long drive for nothing.
One detail catches a lot of visitors: seats are not strictly walk-up. The room uses a call-ahead list. After 17:00 on the day you plan to play, you phone 506-861-4632 and ask to be added. You can usually register up to about 60 minutes before you expect to arrive. If you just show up without putting your name down first, you might wait a long stretch, or not get a seat at all if tables are full.
The minimum age in the poker room is 19, matching New Brunswick provincial rules. Guests who are under 21 must bring two pieces of identification. You do not have to join a players club or pay any fee simply to walk onto the casino floor.
How to Get a Seat - The Actual Process
The entry process is not especially hard, but it does work better if you follow the order.
- Choose an evening: Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
- On that same calendar day, wait until it is past 17:00 local time.
- Call 506-861-4632, give your name and when you expect to arrive.
- If you care which games are open, ask the staff about current tables.
- Head to 21 Casino Drive within the window you mentioned on the call.
- At the main entrance, present valid government ID.
- Go over to the poker room, check in with staff and wait until your seat is called.
For general questions about the casino outside of poker hours, the main contact numbers are 506-859-7770 and 1-877-859-7775.
One practical note we always recommend, not only for Casino NB but for any venue: call the same day you are going. Hours for poker, table games, or specific events can move around with concerts, holidays, private bookings, or staffing changes. A quick two-minute phone call can easily prevent a wasted evening.
Online Poker for New Brunswick Residents
Casino New Brunswick itself does not run an online poker platform at all. There is no official Casino NB poker app or browser room. The brand is strictly land-based, and the poker room you saw above does not have a direct online clone.
If you live in New Brunswick and you want to play poker online, in practice you are dealing with two broad options. The first is the regulated provincial site: alc.ca. It is operated by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation under the New Brunswick Gaming Control Act and is the only authorized online gambling platform within the province. The trade-off is obvious once you look closely: poker there exists mainly as casino-style products and Poker Lotto. There is no true live peer-to-peer poker room, no shared table where you sit with other human players in real time. You will not reach a real multiplayer poker table through the official provincial website.
The second option is offshore poker rooms. Names such as 888Poker, TigerGaming Poker, BetOnline and SB Poker appear regularly in discussions about New Brunswick online poker. These brands are based outside Canada and are licensed by international regulators, not by Casino New Brunswick or Great Canadian Entertainment. There is no formal link between them and our property. What they do offer, typically, is peer-to-peer poker, scheduled tournaments, sit-and-gos, and cash games - the full classic online experience.
| Platform Type | Example | Regulated By | Peer-to-Peer Poker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Provincial (NB) | alc.ca | NBLGC / Atlantic Lottery | No - casino-style only |
| Offshore | 888Poker, BetOnline | International regulators | Yes |
| Land-based (NB) | Casino New Brunswick | NBLGC | Yes - live room only |
New Brunswick law on this is fairly straightforward: online casino-style play offered from inside the province falls under the Atlantic Lottery Corporation structure. Any website that presents itself as “Casino New Brunswick” and serves online poker from within Canada, but sits outside that Atlantic Lottery channel, would not match the way gaming law is actually set up here.
